Midwifery Care
At Tree of Life Birth & Gynecology, our midwives and staff offer the same care schedule you would receive with an Ob/Gyn. With midwife care during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, you'll experience major differences from hospital-based care with a obstetrician. At Tree of LIfe, we really get to know you, spending time tailoring our care to what you and your family need. Our relationship is far more personal than traditional care.

Our midwifery care focuses upon developing a relationship of trust. The Midwifery Model of Care, is a collaboration with the family, involving evidence- based education in a relaxed environment. We don't want to manage your birth for you, but guide it toward a joyous and wonderful experience with you and your partner. Your body was perfectly designed for this process, and by providing you with the necessary information to understand and not fear birth, we achieve our goal, whatever that is for you.

Well Woman Gynecology
We provide well woman exams, preconception consultations, hormone evaluation, and primary care for simple issues or referral for more complex issues. At Tree of Life we take a holistic approach to care, scheduling appointments for an hour so we can discuss issues and concerns prior to the full physical evaluation.

Our natural family planning services include charting, diaphragm and cervical cap fitting, mini-pill, oral contraceptives, IUDs, and nexplanons. Supplements, herbs, and homeopathics are available for your convenience after full evaluation and treatment plan is discussed.

Home VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)
The dilemma: many women, especially those seeking VBAC, end up between a rock and a hard place. They are faced with hospital VBAC bans. They don’t want a repeat cesarean. Or their  hospital technically allows VBAC, but requirements can greatly diminish the likelihood of success. Or an OB might tell them that they “…do VBACs all the time…” when this is not true. Women simply want to birth normally after a cesarean. They want to labor in an safe environment which recognizes the inherent value of vaginal birth to mom and baby.

Vaginal Birth After Cesarean, according toThe American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG, 2010) is a “safe and appropriate choice for most women” who have one prior cesarean, and for “some women” with two prior cesareans. The National Institutes of Health (2010) says “trial of labor is a reasonable option for many pregnant women with one prior low transverse uterine incision.” In 2010, a presentation at the NIH VBAC Conference discussed how there are not enough anesthesiologists in the United States to provide 24/7 coverage of all birthing units nationwide, but that VBAC could be offered safely nonetheless. There are hospitals and hospital-based care providers who actively support VBAC. Yet not all women have access to such facilities and professionals. All this considered, more women are opting for home births because they feel that they have no other choice or because of the many benefits of home birth. As recently reported by the CDC: “After a decline from 1990 to 2004, the percentage of U.S. births that occurred at home increased by 29%, from 0.56% of births in 2004 to 0.72% in 2009″ (MacDorman, 2012). Women feel like if they go to the hospital, they will be railroaded into another cesarean because their OB is not really supportive. That is the risk of hospital birth. The licensed midwives at Tree of Life are now offering VBAC's.
